WSAVA GLOBAL ONE HEALTH AWARD

This Award is based on exemplary service by an individual, who has promoted the global One Health Concept, and, in particular, has highlighted an aspect of small companion animal relevance to the One Health Agenda. The recipient will be chosen on the basis of either:

1.      Service to local, state, national and international One Health Organizations that have catalyzed scientific meetings, exchange of information and international goodwill, for the benefit of the medical and veterinary professions worldwide.

2.      A longstanding history of active research that exemplifies the role of small companion animals in One Health (i.e. in zoonotic infectious disease, comparative or translational medicine or the human-companion animal bond).

WSAVA INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR SCIENTIFIC ACHIEVEMENT  

This award is based on outstanding contributions by a veterinarian who has had a significant impact on the advancement of knowledge concerning the cause, detection, cure and/or control of disorders of companion animals.

The Award, developed by the WSAVA's Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee (AWWC), recognizes individual veterinarians who have made a significant contribution to animal welfare and inspired others to play their part in advancing welfare global

WSAVA GLOBAL MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD

The Award which is to be presented annually during the WSAVA Congress is awarded to a veterinarian who in the opinion of the judges has contributed meritorious service to the veterinary profession in the broadest sense which may be as a general practitioner, an academic veterinary surgeon or a veterinarian working in management or for a company.

The judging committee looks for candidates with a history of serving the profession by taking voluntary roles on professional organizations over a period of years as well as exhibiting professional expertise within their working life.

The WSAVA-Henry Schein Cares International Veterinary Community Service Award

This award recognizes veterinarians who have exhibited exceptional acts of valour and commitment in the face of adversity to service the community. The contribution could be specific to the veterinary community or beyond.

The judging committee looks for candidates with a history of serving the profession by taking voluntary roles on professional organizations over a period of years as well as exhibiting professional expertise within their working life.
